Vitamin B6 is a group of chemically very similar compounds that can be interconverted in biological systems. It is a part of the vitamin B group. The active form form of vitamin B6, pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP) serves as a coenzyme in several enzyme reactions in glucose, amino acid, and lipid metabolism.
